Cantilan is one of the oldest towns in the Province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines.

The people of Cantilan are called Cantilangnons and their dialect is called Cantelangnon (part of Surigaonon dialect). It belongs to an Austronesian language of the Philippine type spoken by about several thousand people. With lexical similarity of 82% with Dibabawon Manobo, 81% with Agusan Manobo, 69% with Butuanon.

This will be the avenue of my ramblings as Cantilangnon!

Buenas!

This would be one of the few English posts I've ever posted here in my blog, and perhaps would be the last, the first one is the tagline. hehehe  I don't hate the language, but I think it would be more "makabayan" (nationalistic)  to use my town's dialect Cantelangnon, even few if not the majority hardly understands the posts.

Some are using Tagalog, Cebuano (Bisaya), Bicolano or even English, and hey why not Cantelangnon?  What's ironic is that in using such dialect, this blog is even nominated for the Filipino Blog of the Week (week #69).  gee, i love the number. hehehe  Few weeks ago i asked talksmart (through his tagboard) about the language of use for a blog to be nominated and he said "all Filipino blogs can be nominated".  Lately, I had a message from him that my blog, in Cantelangnon is nominated.  I am really grateful for this and even prouder if you will vote for this blog.  Thanks in advance!

Cantilangnons this is for you!
