The people of Cantilan are called Cantilangnons and their dialect is called Cantelangnon (part of Surigaonon dialect). It belongs to an Austronesian language of the Philippine type spoken by about several thousand people. With lexical similarity of 82% with Dibabawon Manobo, 81% with Agusan Manobo, 69% with Butuanon.

Funny isn’t it? It’s mother’s day there, and in the US perhaps, but not here in Britain. We had ours in March. I wonder who sets the date? The restaurants, card shops and flower shops perhaps?
